Portugal Wine Tour

Your visit in paradise starts with your arrival to Porto with pick up at the airport (or place to be designated) and transfer to the hotel you previously chose.

After check in, you will have some time to get to know the unit you are accommodated. After this first contact, our specialized guide will pick you up at your hotel, taking you on a sightseeing tour, in a luxury vehicle with wi-fi, freshwater and refreshing towels, in which you will enjoy a tour around the Porto city heading towards Matosinhos, a town famous for its fishing tradition and the quality of its powerful gastronomy, based on fish from the cold Atlantic waters.

If the weather permits, then we head out to Porto for a helicopter tour. Seen from the sky, Porto transforms, the chaos of the old road network, gains logic, the old part of town, classified since 1996 by UNESCO, stands out, as it stands out the Douro river and becomes even more beautiful… an unmissable experience!

Helicopter tour concluded, our guide will take you to a typical Porto house, for an experience that has to be lived in Portugal, a Fado show, that will take roughly 1 hour.

After the show a premium vehicle will pick you up to take you to a high-end restaurant, where your senses will be captivated by the fusion of Portuguese haute cuisine and traditional gastronomy, always paired with Douro wines.

After dinner a luxurious vehicle will pick you up and take you to your hotel.

At 9:30 a.m. our specialized guide will pick you up where you are accommodated, taking you for a sightseeing tour on a luxurious vehicle with Wi-fi, freshwater and refreshing towels, in which you will journey through Porto city, on a trip to the other side of the river, making a stop in Vila Nova de Gaia, for a unique experience.

In Vila Nova de Gaia are located the Port Wine Cellars, where this famous wine rests to then be bottled. Here you will visit the most emblematic Port Cellars, ensuring that this experience and contact will be immersive and unique. In the Cellars you will learn more about this “bottled sun” and the visit will then end with a commented tasting.

Once the visit is finished, you will be taken to a high end restaurant, for a degustation menu paired with Douro wines.

After lunch, a 2 hour boat ride, from the new marina - Douro Marina, from the Douro river mouth up to the city limits, allowing views of the urban landscape and the emblematic bridges that connect Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.

Upon landing a relaxed stroll, bathed by the afternoon sun, on a tuktuk, through the streets of the old Porto, discovering secrets hidden in the pavements, houses, churches and other buildings.

Dinner will take place in a high-end restaurant, where your senses will be captivated by the fusion of Portuguese haute cuisine and traditional gastronomy, always paired with Douro wines.

After dinner a luxurious vehicle will pick you up and take you to your hotel.

Pick up in Porto, from here  you head out to the Douro, on a luxurious vehicle with Wi-fi, freshwater and refreshing towels, in which you will be taken to your hotel unit.

Onward to Vila Real, destination: its major icon, the Mateus Palace, considered the most beautiful example of baroque palaces of the interior and a site of mandatory visit in the Region. Once the 1 hour visit is finished, you will be taken to a high end restaurant, to contact with the mighty Douro gastronomy and its famous wines.

The visit continues towards Favaios, ancient town, property of the Távoras and that extends as a colorful towel, in a beautiful winegrowing plateau, where the moscatel is king. The town is known by the quality of the homemade bread it produces and the Museum of Bread and Wine that does justice to those two pillars of Douro tradition.

Then we depart to Pinhão, using one of the most beautiful roads, overlooking the Pinhão river, winding through vineyards, estates, villages, tree lines, as we go down to Pinhão.

This circuit ends with a 2h visit to an historical and emblematic estate where a connection between the history of wine and the symbiosis it establishes with the overwhelming winegrowing territory, is made.

Once all is said and done, a luxurious vehicle will drive you back to your hotel. Once you´re checked in, enjoy the tranquility and the thematic offers that this Estate proposes.

Dinner will take place in a high end restaurant, where you will experience the powerful Douro gastronomy.

Then you will be returned to your hotel, again, in a luxury vehicle.

In this experience we feel the telluric, the smells, the colors and peoples of the Douro. And what they were able to secularly produce, molding and transforming the landscape and creating wines of excellency with emphasis on the Port that immortalized the region and the Country.

Thus the journey continues to an Estate where the Douro matrix is better perceived, by visiting vineyards, cellars and wine presses, and commented tastings, translating the experience into an unusual act of tradition, history and culture.

Once the visit is finished, you will be taken to a high end restaurant, to contact with the mighty Douro gastronomy and its famous wines.

After lunch, you will visit an olive press, integrated in a theme museum, where you will be able to understand this important agricultural production.

You will experience an unexpected sensorial moment, by participating in a commented tasting of olive oils.

Dinner will take place in a high end restaurant, where you will experience the powerful Douro gastronomy.

Then, a luxurious vehicle will drive you back to your hotel.

Follows an exclusive visit to three estates, in a way to obtain an integrated vision of the context and cultural density they comprehend, since their medieval origins, their typified structure, consequence of the winegrowing Douro regulamentation by the Royal Charter of 1756 that evolved to modernity, through new estates, some of them designed by great portuguese architects.

Once the geographical and architectural context of these units of the landscape is understood, the visitor will evolve in the knowledge and interpretation of the production dynamics, the vineyard annual cycle, identification of the castes, the labor processes unto the wine itself. The wine has a history, an identity, a cultural value and character that binds the territory.

In this visit, follows the comprehension and making of the wine typologies, demonstrations and qualities, allowing the tourist that integrated vision, vertical and horizontal of the product offered, including a visit to the vineyard,  cellar and presses, where we can learn more about the processes of the Port and Douro wines production, through the commented tastings that will occur.

The visit to the Estates will include lunch in a high end restaurant, with degustation paired with Douro and Port wines.

After the visit, a luxurious vehicle will be at your disposal to return you to your hotel.

Once checked in, you will have some time to relax and get to know the unit you are accommodated in. After this first contact with the hotel where you will dine, it will be time to rest.

After lunch a car will take you to the Pocinho pier.

Here a boat will take us back to Pinhão, through one of the most beautiful and environmentally recommended river courses, that the region offers, the Côa river. In this course you will see many emblematic Estates, contemplate the serenity of the waters and enjoy a unique experience...

After the boat ride, we head to the Côa Museum, one of the most emblematic national museums. This acts as a welcoming space, of museum exhibit of artifacts that illustrate the human occupation of the territory, as well as, its relevant value in Humanity´s cultural context.

In this visit, follows the comprehension and making of the wine typologies, demonstrations and qualities, allowing the tourist that integrated vision, vertical and horizontal of the product offered, including a visit to the vineyard,  cellar and presses, where we can learn more about the processes of the Port and Douro wines production, through the commented tastings that will occur.

This visit will end with a traditional dinner, with a degustation menu paired with the Estate´s wines.

After dinner, a night visit follows, to interact with one of the 3 rock art sites, open to the public in situ Canada do Inferno, Penascosa, Ribeira de Priscos. Together, these cultural assets, show the importance of the territory in the civilizational construction and are a decisive reference for the Region. Another world to discover!

After the nocturnal visit, a luxury vehicle will pick you up to return you to your hotel.

At 9:30 a.m. our specialized guide will pick you up where you are accommodated, taking you on a tour on a luxurious 4x4 vehicle with Wi-fi, freshwater and refreshing towels, in which you will journey through the hidden sensations of the Douro Valley, whether the panoramic roads floating in the sinuous landscape of this human heritage territory, as it takes you towards the Faia Brava Reservation.

The Faia Brava Reservation, in the Côa Valley, is the first private protected area in the country. A pioneering and innovative project, an its mission, the conservation and promotion os the characteristic biodiversity of the Souro basin, through ecological restoration actions, promotion of sustainable agricultural, forest and tourist  practices.

After the visit we return to Pocinho, and by train we will follow the waters, by the gentle pace of the train, to one of the most emblematic and exclusive Douro Estates, the Quinta do Vesúvio, once property of D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira.

In the Quinta do Vesúvio follows the comprehension and making of the wine typologies, demonstrations and qualities, allowing the tourist that integrated vision, vertical and horizontal of the product offered, including a visit to the vineyard,  cellar and presses, where we can learn more about the processes of the Port and Douro wines production, through the commented tastings that will occur.

This experience will end with lunch, in which you will enjoy a degustation menu, paired with the Estate´s wines.

The return to Pocinho will be made by boat, to diversify your experience and allow a different perspective of the river and the hills. If the climate forbids it, the return will be made by train.

Once in Pocinho, we will head to a traditional estate where the visitor will evolve its knowledge and interpretation of the production dynamics, the annual cycle of the vine, the identification of the grapes, the processes that lead to the wine. It has a history, an identity, character and cultural value that bond the territory.

Dinner will take place in the Estate, in the tastings venue where the flavors of the Douro regional gastronomy will fuse with the Estate´s wines.

After dinner a luxurious vehicle will pick you up and take you to your hotel.

It is time to say goodbye!

Pick up at the hotel at the agreed time. Our guide will pick up the clients and take them to the vehicle that will transfer them back to Porto (airport of designated location).
